THE 5 DAY CHALLENGE

DAY 1 - Planning

We'll create a plan to make mindful running easy with a structured strategy to ensure successful completion, breaking down the goal into manageable steps, identifying potential obstacles, and establishing priorities. By setting clear objectives and allocated time, you'll experience clarity and purpose every day. Planning provides a roadmap to guide you throughout the challenge.

DAY 2 - Setting Intentions

Before each run or walk, we take a moment to set our intentions for the session. This could involve goals such as improving focus, relieving stress, or simply enjoying the present moment.
The strategy of mindful running involves combining the physical activity of running with mindfulness techniques to enhance the experience and achieve various mental and emotional benefits.

DAY 3 - Awareness & Acceptance

Discover the transformative impact of mindful running, connecting with yourself and your environment on a deeper level. Through simple guided exercises, tune into your body, thoughts, and feelings, creating more profound awareness with acceptance and no judgment or resistance. By practicing these principles, you can extend mindfulness beyond your runs and cultivate inner peace and resilience in other areas of your life.

DAY 4 - Gratitude & Presence

Focusing on gratitude and staying fully present, we'll discover joy in the little things during our run, thereby elevating our experience with contentment. This mindful approach not only improves our time on the run but also uplifts our overall well-being. By consistently embracing presence and gratitude, we cultivate a positive mindset that stays with us, nurturing greater happiness and fulfilment in our lives.

DAY 5 - Looking Ahead

As we gear up for our final run in this challenge, we'll take a moment to reflect on our journey together. Each day, we've moved closer to mindfulness by setting intentions and finding gratitude in the little things. Now, as you embrace being a mindful runner, remember to carry with you all the lessons you've learned and the strength you've gained. Looking forward, it's clear that our adventure as mindful runners is just beginning. So, keep up with these practices in your daily life, and remember, facing challenges with grace and staying present is all part of the journey. You've got this!

INTRODUCING YOUR HOSTS

Magnus Alestrand coach at 16 Weeks of Hell

Magnus Alestrand

Fitness Coach

I'm thrilled to join you as a guest host for the Mindful Running 5-Day Challenge. I'm particularly passionate about integrating conscious fitness with nutrition to optimize our health and well-being. My personal goal is to still be able to run marathons in my 80s. I firmly believe that by nurturing our bodies with the right nutrition and exercise, this goal is entirely achievable. As a coach for the fitness program 16 WEEKS OF HELL, I've had the privilege of guiding individuals towards their fitness goals through a holistic approach, and now I'll be sharing some of my knowledge and insights on how conscious fitness and nutrition can enhance our running/walking experience and overall health."

Andrea Alestrand

Mindful Runner

"Despite the cliché, I do believe that everything happens for a reason. Turning 52 has prompted me to reflect on life, especially after dealing with so many setbacks, including some serious heart issues. But what truly made the difference for me was a major shift in my mindset. I've come out of it feeling grateful for another chance at life and the journey it took me on. Now, I'm on a mission to share what I've learned with people like you who've also been through their own share of battles. Let's change the way we think about getting older, it's not about slowing down, it's about doing what we can, being present, and staying active while enjoying the ride!"

ANNABETH HALL

Behavioural Scientist

"Hey everyone! I'm truly excited to be here as a guest host for the Mindful Running 5-Day Challenge. While we're diving into the world of mindful running and walking, I'm particularly passionate about shedding light on sugar addiction and how a change in mindset combined with a plan of action can be a powerful tool in overcoming it. With years of experience in addiction therapy and behavioural science, I bring a wealth of knowledge to the table. So, I'll be sharing practical insights and proven strategies to help you navigate the challenges of sugar cravings and find a healthier balance in your life."

Are you over 40 and curious about mindful running? This is your call!

This is more than just a passing trend; it's an opportunity to reclaim your well-being amidst life's demands. Mindful running isn't solely about putting in the miles; it's about integrating physical activity with mental clarity and emotional resilience. By tuning into your body, surroundings, and thoughts as you move, you're not only logging miles but also deepening your connection with yourself and the world around you. Imagine stepping outside and feeling the weight of stress dissipate with each breath. Mindful running offers a space and a chance to give your mind the breathing room it craves and reconnect with yourself. So, if you've been curious about this transformative practice, now's your time to embrace it. Take this opportunity to invest in yourself and experience the profound impact mindful running can have on your overall well-being.

Transform Your Life with Mindful Running

Mindful running is a practice that combines running with mindfulness techniques. It involves paying full attention to the present moment while running, focusing on bodily sensations, breathing, and the environment. It encourages individuals to run without judgment or attachment to outcomes, allowing them to cultivate a deeper awareness of themselves and their surroundings. It involves breathing  techniques, and staying attuned to  the body, thoughts and emotions while running. Overall, mindful running promotes mental clarity, stress reduction, and a greater sense of connection to one's body and surroundings.

As your mindful running coach, I'd like to share a personal journey that led me to where I am today. Like many, I once dreamt of becoming a runner, but I kept putting it off, waiting for the "perfect" moment. However, life had other plans for me. A bout of serious health issues shattered my long-held plans, forcing me to confront the reality that time is fleeting and waiting for the ideal circumstances is a luxury we can't always afford.

Fast forward to today, and I've learned a valuable lesson—the only moment we truly have is now. This realization was hard-earned, but it sparked a profound shift in my mindset. Instead of allowing setbacks to defeat me, I chose to harness them as fuel for a more meaningful life. This resilience became my superpower, and an inner strength that I'm happy to share with you.

Let's embrace the power of the present moment and turn life's challenges into opportunities for growth and transformation.
Kindly,

Andrea Alestrand
